Free will is NOT found in the pursuit of desires or the formation and defending of opinions. No, it's not. One pursues desires and forms and defends opinions because of social-evolutionary programming. These drives were programmed into you with DNA and in response to environment.



Nature AND nurture, together. They do not fight each other.



Free will is found when you can say NO to desires, say NO even to your 'own' opinions. Takes practice. Then you will indeed have choice in what you think and feel. Then you will have free will. For most, it remains and undiscovered and/or languishing talent. I practice.
